Line striping is where our company started. Wayne Smith founded Smith Linestriping in 1985, and today his son Zach Smith, who has worked in the business full time since 2004, owns and leads it. Nearly four decades later, clear, straight, durable lines are still at the center of what we do.
Good striping isn’t just cosmetic. It controls how traffic moves, where people walk, how many vehicles fit, and whether accessible parking is marked correctly. Faded lines can make a well-run property look neglected and create confusion for drivers.
What We Stripe
- Parking stalls and drive lanes
- Directional arrows, stop bars, and crosswalks
- Fire lanes and no-parking zones
- ADA accessible spaces, with ADA signage
- Loading areas, warehouse and industrial lots
- New layouts for newly paved or reconfigured lots
Paint We Trust
We use Sherwin-Williams traffic paint. It’s made for pavement marking and gives crisp lines with good visibility. Restriping on a regular schedule keeps markings bright, especially on lots that see heavy traffic and winter plowing.
New Layouts and Large Sites
Restriping existing lines is straightforward. A new layout takes planning: traffic flow, stall counts, accessible routes, and how people actually use the site. We completed new layout line striping, cleaning, and sealcoating for Precision Vehicle Holdings at the GM Flint Assembly Plant, a site of roughly 1.5 million square feet. We’ve also striped for clients including McDonald’s, Yum! Brands, Bank of America, Comerica Bank, Huntington Bank, and FedEx.
ADA Signage
Accessible parking needs proper markings and signage. We stripe ADA spaces and access aisles and install ADA signage so these areas are easy to find and clearly identified.
Keeping Lots Open
We plan striping so your property can stay in use. Sections are coned off while paint dries, and we can schedule around shift changes, store hours, or deliveries.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a parking lot be restriped?
It depends on traffic and plowing, but many commercial lots are restriped every one to two years, and always after sealcoating.
Can you stripe while my business is open?
Usually, yes. We work in sections and can schedule around your busiest hours.
How long does paint take to dry?
Traffic paint dries fairly quickly in good weather. We’ll cone off fresh areas until they’re ready.
Can you change my lot’s layout?
Yes. We can lay out new stalls and traffic patterns, especially after new paving.
